Green's Classic Scones Easy Mix - simply add egg and milk for a delicious home-made teatime treat!
Traditional English scones are especially delicious with fresh Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam
All Green's products are made with natural ingredients and no artificial colourings.
This pack is enough to make 6 servings.
And this is how:
1. Pre-heat the oven to 220°. Grease a baking tray lightly with butter and set aside.
2. Mix. Empty the scone mix into a bowl. Mix 1 egg and 70ml (4.5 tablespoons) of milk together. Reserve 2 teaspoons for glazing (see step 4). Pour the balance into scone mixture and stir with wooden spoon until a smooth dough is formed.
3. Roll the dough onto a lightly floured surface to approximately 2cm thickness. Cut into 6 scones using a 6cm cutter or simply use th ebase of a drinking glass as a template to cut round. Place onto agreased baking tray.
4. Bake. Brush the tops of the scones with the remaining egg/milk mixture to glaze. Leave to rise for 10min at room temperature. bake in the centre of the oven for 10-12 minutes until golden brown. Serve with Clotted Cream and Strawberry Jam
