Ready to use. Contains enough to cover and fill a 9" (23cm) round sandwich cake or cover up to 32 cupcakes. 1 Brush all the crumbs off the cake. 2 Stir room-temperature icing and spread the icing evenly on the cooled cake. 3 Cover and refrigerate any remaining icing. Keep refrigerated and use within 30 days of opening. Betty's Hints & Tips. To ice a sandwich cake, place 1 layer topside down on a plate and spread icing almost to the edge. Place the other layer, topside up, on an iced layer. Ice sides with a thin coat first to seal the crumbs, then ice top and side evenly.
